Jembatan Merah (Red Bridge)

Red Bridge (in Indonesian is Jembatan Merah) is a historic monument in Surabaya, East Java, which left as is. At the time of the VOC, the Red Bridge to be considered important and the most vital means of communication that starts from the River House Kalimas into the current residency is not a trace.


Regions around the Red Bridge is a commercial area that began to develop as a result of an agreement between Pakubuwono II of the VOC of Mataram Kingdom on 11 November 1743 that one of the Surabaya berbuunyi contents into the area so that the VOC control in the area around Red Bridge there are still indicators trade activities.

Government and society should be able to Surabaya City Red Bridge hygiene because the Red Bridge is one of the historic sites and tourist attractions in the city of Surabaya.
